I've been inundated with congratulations on my retention. It's retarded. A Colonel that's nowhere near my chain of command just congratulated me. The secretary gave me a handwritten note from the General congratulating me again. I think word is out among the Lt Cols and below that I didn't want to be retained because I've been asked a few times.
Meanwhile, I ran in to Mrs. Verbeck at Burger King this afternoon and she congratulated me on my engagement. Silly General, telling his wife...
Also, I saw Sam's teacher at the post office last night and asked if his behavior has improved. Indeed, it has. So I offer congratulations to my (our) little Sammy.
