I can't believe this year (school year) is coming to an end already. I feel like we need to slow down and enjoy things but we don't have time! The move is coming so fast, Schmitty's leaving his awesome school. He has a band concert tonight that conflicts with a scout meeting so we'll have to skip scouts. We also have soccer games this weekend (yes, plural), a scout campout, and an end-of-season soccer party.
Next weekend is Memorial Day which means our final trip to OKC for a while. Shortly after we return the movers come and pack up our stuff. Is it weird that I'll miss the trees in our yard? How do I get sad looking at our trees? I'll really miss our neighbors, I know our kids will too. They all play together and live on the same street. After our first year or so of Schmitty being lonely and not having anyone to play with boys his age moved in across the street. Now they all play while their moms sit around and drink cocktails!
Yago even has a yoga group that he's grown fond of. The instructor is very funny and always has an interesting story. She teaches the most challenging classes I've ever attended. She taught English in Japan for a year, one of those kinds of people. I love that.
I'm sure Idaho will be cool. It's a year, the perfect length of time for a good adventure!

reasons not to cram...
I scheduled a test today that I'm not prepared for. I read late last night and rose early this morning to cram for it. Unfortunately, the website just went down. My anxiety just turned to panic...

The movers are coming today to look around and see how much crap, I mean how many treasures, they have to pack. I can't believe it. I'm excited to get settled in and find a new place to live and a new routine but also very, very sad to be leaving the familiar home, friends, and family we have here. No more long weekends to Oklahoma and no more overnighters for the kids at Grandma and Grandpa's house.
I'll really miss my friends here. I was in Germany for four years and didn't have a single friend there, but now I have a few good ones right in my neighborhood. I'm afraid of another "Germany" in Idaho. I've been so focused on finding a school, house, and activities for the kids when we move that I almost feel ready to give up and just wing it when we get there. The problem is that we arrive in the middle of summer. It's too late to start any of the youth programs or activities.
Well, I need to go to the gym. Yago made HOMEMADE cinnamon rolls this morning, they were awesome! It's his great grandmother's recipe if I remember correctly. Scrumptious.

a praise
Tomorrow morning is our appraisal which is the final hurdle in our sale. Today I should clean fiendishly and then be good until after everything is packed up and moved out.
Mother's Day was extraordinary. I woke early to presents! I got a Kindle with a leather case and then was served coffee in bed by Schmitty. After getting out of bed Yago squeezed oranges, strained out the pulp, and made mimosas! How awesome is that? Very. Then Yago made chicken piccata for dinner, very tasty! That man is one great cook.
Last weekend we also had a Kentucky Derby party, it was a LOT of fun. I was kind of just looking for an excuse to have some people over before we left. We served beer and mint juleps and each rooted our horse on during the race. The winner got a gift certificate to a restaurant that Yago and I enjoyed a couple of weeks ago. However, after all the yummy food that was brought over I'm starting a diet today.

wow!
So much to report! We put our house on the market a few weeks ago and got an offer on the day we listed it. Our realtors took pictures Monday, listed it on Tuesday, we had a showing Tuesday afternoon and an offer Tuesday night! Such a relief, I can't even tell you. Now we going through what feels like one inspection after another. Home inspection, termite inspection, appraisal... But it's all gone very smoothly so far.
Tomorrow we're going to serve up some mint juleps and watch the Kentucky Derby with some friends, it should be a relaxing afternoon. I bought a dress and hat at TJ Max for the occasion.
All I have to do now is find a house and a school for Schmitty in Idaho Falls. No small feat.

get the ball rolling already
I called our realtor last week to get our house listed but she informed me she was going out of town. He daughter is due to have a baby so she was hoping to spend a long weekend with her and meet her grandson. She would call me Monday when she was back in town. What could go wrong with that plan?
She is not back in town today. She won't be back tomorrow either. Said baby has not come and now she's not planning on coming back until Thursday night. She'll come over Friday afternoon to do a final walk through and price determination. I was ready to have the house on the market last week and it shouldn't be a big deal but time is a-tickin'! We have to get this thing SOLD! sigh. I'm stressed in case you haven't noticed.
How do people do this every time they move?

dream
As I may have mentioned before I occasionally have dreams where I encounter celebrities. I don't remember having celebrity dreams until I got pregnant with Ralphie. Although I don't have them as frequently since he's been born, I still sometimes have one.
Usually these dreams involve Oprah and Gayle. Weird, right? I guess I like to think that we all run in the same circles and happen to show up at the same parties. Last night was a good one, even though Oprah and Gayle were nowhere to be found. I dreamt I was at Prince William's wedding. Not just there, but part of the royal inner circle and running around helping Kate with her wedding dress and whatnot. The Queen came downstairs and asked me to put her fur someplace. I put it on the back of her chair at the head table in the reception hall.
I awoke to Yago telling me it was 6:45 which really means, "Get your butt in gear, lunches need to be packed."
